Physical-Memory Experience vs Fear

Yes. I read, Every decision you make in life is based, ultimately on Fear, whether small, or large. You will recall, Arthur Joseph says: “Psychologists say the greatest human fear >>> is public speaking. They’re wrong. The greatest fear is actually two fears. Fear of Abandonment. And fear of ownership of your True power.” Take that into the following: We live in a “modern” world. We take the elements of earth and shift them into incredible utilitarian objects. This physical affirmation of “progress” Deceives our consciousness with the assumption we are evolving and becoming more human than we used to be, more “human” than we actually are… more civil, more in Control. Due to my studies of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and personal self improvement work, and the part of my personality that forces me to kill myself Trying - to become more than I currently am - to walk the life of my dreams, I’ve become actively curious in recognizing Truth, and distinguishing it from hope, assumption, and blind belief. Recognize. The Industrial Revolution dumbed down everyone on the planet. The PC Age dumbed us down even more. Now, the Internet Age has stupefied us. The scientific community is in consensus with the assertion: We Are Fundamentally the same now, as we were when living in caves and migrating with the herds… hunter-gatherers. We have Not changed. Since we have simply not evolved over the last couple hundred-thousand years… as basic humans, then what, as an individual, with all these “modern-day” advantages, keeps any One of Us from Being, Having, Becoming… Everything We Wanted.

Scientists assert we
First make Decisions based on our Feelings. We Then use “Rational” Thinking to back up our Decisions.

So. Where do feelings come from? Physical Experience. TOUCH. SIGHT. SOUND. Smell. Taste. When we gain more confidence in our Physical Core, we Gain More Confidence in our Feelings = Decisions. We Gain confidence to Try More things. Fail. Try, Try Again. Bingo.

I had a conversation with a new friend (successful C-level salesman) who trains with me at Muay Thai kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He says, “Watch, and tell me what you learn, tell me how much of this stuff applies to business. The Jiu Jitsu I learn I use in business all the time. I’ve actually been in real-life situations where I felt trapped, on-the-spot and needed to use a different approach- then it suddenly came to me how I worked out of a hold-position in Jiu Jitsu and with the Physical Experience in my mind I quickly identified the correct work-around to my immediate situation in the CEO’s office.”

As you know, our educational system keeps us dumbed down. It’s all a big business. The elementary schools. High schools. The Universities. Their methods are thousands of years old. The self-help sources I’ve come across do not lay it on the line like they should, because people are fearful of the truth. They preach enough to make you very interested. They won’t tell you. All the money you’re spending, all the time is for Nothing. Unless you Do Something Physical. Action. Only then will you Start to Learn. Seeing Is Believing. Doing Is Believing. And you don’t See or Do much of anything when you’re sitting in a classroom. Reading a book. Or watching a movie. By visualizing. By Participating in a Scripted self-improvement seminar production — It can get you closer, but, you subconsciously recognize the experience is only as real as you willingly support the false phenomenon of suspension-of-disbelief -which has allowed entertainers to fill their coffers with cash since the beginning of time. The Key is: SEEING Is Believing, FEELING Is Believing, DOING Is Believing. Of course, in books, through visualization, and some films and theater there are great things to learn - if you are lucky enough to recognize them. But. You need to take Physical Action to Create Real Belief through Actual Experienced Memory. PHYSICAL-MEMORY EXPERIENCE. It is Everything.

The Realized Truths learned from my experience with Chet Holmes are almost completely foreign to most top level salesmen, entrepreneurs, and CEOs. Their sales training is still by-the-numbers. If they would do 6 months Physically working with Chet, on the phone -Listening- and -Interacting- with him every week, learning how to actually apply his videos and methods - they would be simply Invincible. PHYSICAL-MEMORY EXPERIENCE.

Tom Peters as you have probably seen, says “Reward Spectacular Failures, Punish Mediocre Successes!” Because you can’t Experience anything until you Try. And to Try something New means you are Setting Yourself Up for Failure. Who Cares If You Fail? What Did You Learn? Take it and Go Again! PHYSICAL-MEMORY EXPERIENCE.

I recently read an article about how we create memories, and it made me think of something I heard at church. The pastor told the congregation, he once asked his 93 year-old father, “You know dad, the older we get, the faster time seems to go by. How fast does it go at your age?” His father responded with a grave and solemn look, “You Don’t Want To Know.” That’s because, New Memories are Created and Stored based on relevance. New memories, are created based on Things or Experiences We have Not Previously Seen, or Done. If we see the same living room, the same house, the same people every day— there are no new memories stored and Time Seems to go by Faster because, Hey, we’ve already “been there”, even though it may be a new day. So, if someone wanted to decide to store into their memory: the older I get (or, when I get old, or Right Now), the More Experiences I will have because it will Give me the feeling, the Experience of living a longer, more fulfilling life. For some people at a higher age, a year goes by and seems like a month. That’s because they didn’t Create New PHYSICAL-MEMORY EXPERIENCE.

New toys, gadgets and machines rarely give an Individual an advantage. The billionaire Richard Branson doesn’t even know how to turn on a computer (and he’s a pretty progressive guy). We have NOT evolved into the SUPER-HUMANS that Modern-Day industry, “Civilization” would have us believe. Some simply outperform the others.

Since Fear is the single biggest factor in our making decisions. And we haven’t evolved as a species for indeterminable thousands of years. Let’s Explore the origin of this fear. We don’t need to look far. The Single Biggest Determining Factor into how we run our lives is based on who we are. We are the same as we were ages ago. The same programming ingrained into our existence over 200,000 years ago when we had to Run from the beasts, take Shelter from the weather, and Search for food: Protect Ourselves. Fear.

In order to Grow as an Individual, we must Face Our Fears. Our Fears are Basic. The object of our First Greatest Fear is Physical. The object of our Second Greatest Fear is Scarcity. At Our CORE, Scarcity = Food, Water, Shelter, Clothes. Money. I want to first Conquer, Control, Get a handle on, Do the best I can to accept, and work with the First and GREATEST of Fears. Physical. Mixed Martial Arts Training forces me to Live Situations in which I Create PHYSICAL-MEMORY EXPERIENCE and Gain Confidence over the Most Basic, Fundamental Fear. PHYSICAL. Since Fear of Physical Harm is The Most basic, and Core fear. Our most Primary Fear. And since we can not live separately from one part of ourselves, or sequester an aspect of our existence — We understand that Everything Matters. Everything is Joined. Everything is a Factor. PHYSICAL-MEMORY EXPERIENCE benefits me. Because I am Working At The Core Of My Existence. It Enhances My Confidence in Everything I will decide to do.

There are Two basic Types of Abandonment.
We are fearful of being abandoned by A) Occurrences out of our Control (attack, of any kind for example). We are also fearful of B) Abandoning Ourselves.

Another Arthur Joseph example. He said, “After my first real success with my work, I allowed myself to purchase an extraordinary suit coat. And, as I stood there I Looked into the mirror, I did not feel like myself, I felt very uncomfortable. I suddenly realized that I felt uncomfortable in this new, expensive coat which I previously could not afford. In that moment I felt within myself… I’m not worthy, this is Not Me. And I immediately Stood Up and Apologized to myself. For in That Moment I Had Abandoned Myself.” Someone may come up to me tonight at a restaurant, or approach me on the street sidewalk and initiate a physical altercation, and I may be hurt badly. But, it will Not be because I did not Try, or Prepare. I will not wander the Earth, going about my daily life with the Risk that I would feel as if I had betrayed myself, that I was an Idiot for not Trying. It Will Not Be Because I Abandoned Myself by Not Preparing for An Encounter with: My Core, Fundamental, And Most Basic Human Fear. Physical Danger. Of course, we have tough laws so we don’t go around picking fights and beating each other up. That’s simply stupid. But idiots and predators Do exist. And we know, no matter how far it’s tucked away, our Most Basic -and- Fundamental Fear is There. Recognize it. Most people deceive themselves into lacking control of their core, they would Feel as if They had Abandoned Themselves would they Ever Encounter Such a Situation. We can not sequester this fear, and for those who do not challenge it, it penetrates other areas of their daily lives. We don’t need to wait for such a situation to occur in order to Realize, Greatly Benefit from our Decision to gain Confidence over our Basic. Human. Fears. Gaining confidence at our core will significantly improve your life in every way imaginable. We Access this Confidence through PHYSICAL-MEMORY EXPERIENCE in our Daily Lives. In Love. In Business.

33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene. Pages 155-156
Thousands of years ago we humans elevated ourselves above the animal world and never looked back. Figuratively speaking, the keys to this evolutionary advance was our powers of vision: language, and the ability to reason that it gave us, let us see more of the world around us. To protect itself from a predator, an animal depended on its senses and instincts; it could not see around the corner or to the other end of the forest. We humans, on the other hand, could map the entire forest, study the habits of dangerous animals and even nature itself, gaining deeper, wider knowledge of our environment. We could see dangers coming before they were here. This expanded vision was abstract: where an animal is locked in the present, we could see into the past and glimpse as far as our reason would take us into the future. Our sight expanded further and further into time and space, and we came to dominate the world.

Somewhere along the line, however, we stopped evolving as rational creatures. Despite our progress there is always a part of us that remains animal, and that animal part can respond only to what is most immediate in our environment—it is incapable of thinking beyond the moment. The dilemma affects us still: the two sides of our character, rational and animal, are constantly at war, making almost all of our actions awkward. We reason and plan to achieve a goal, but in the heat of action we become emotional and lose perspective. We use cleverness and strategy to grab for what we want, but we do not stop to think about whether what we want is necessary, or what the consequences of getting it will be. The extended vision that rationality brings us is often eclipsed by the reactive, emotional animal within—the stronger side of our nature.

More than we are today, the ancient Greeks were close to the passage of the human race from animal to rational. To them our dual nature made us tragic, and the source of tragedy was limited vision. In classical Greek tragedies such as Oedipus Rex, the protagonist may think he knows the truth and knows enough about the world to act in it, but his vision is limited by his emotions and desires. He has only a partial perspective on life and on his own actions and identity, so he acts imprudently and causes suffering. When Oedipus finally understands his own role in all his misfortunes, he tears out his eyes - symbols of his tragic limitation. He can see out into the world but not inward into himself.
